The engagement of Sun-Hyeok, an orphan, and Su-Jeong, daughter of a rich man or Chae-Bol, is held in the malicious gossip. For Sun-Hyeok has bad feeling against his mother who abandoned debt, her husband and son, he turns away an elderly woman who insists that she is his biological mother. In fact Sun-Hyeok's mother is entangled in his father's scheme to clear off the debt and what's worse she murders somebody due to her husband's betrayal. So she goes to Sun-Hyeok after released from the prison. When it becomes clear that the woman who wanders around Sun-Hyeok's apartment is his real mother, the woman leaves her son. Sun-Hyeok feels guilty of that and gets a disease in his eyes. He tries to kill himself in serious anguish in vain. Finally his eyes are recovered thanks to corneal transplant with his mother's eyes.
