This enchanting flask, with sides flattened to achieve a disk-like shape, attests to the high standard achieved by punch'ong potters.

The rather thick mouth is rolled outwards and sits above a short neck.

The flask is coated with brushed slip and decorated with a pair of fish incised in a bold hand on both rounders of the main body.

The narrow panels on the sides of the vessel are divided into three levels, each adorned with a variation of a four-leaf peony design in reverse inlay.

Clay is exposed around the mouth, the lower side of the body, and the foot The translucent, greenish glaze is filled with crackle and has gathered thickly in places.

The bottle was fired upon coarse sand spurs.
