About Beggar of the Last Year
Keumbungeo and Jindogae are wandering beggars, but they come to settle in Hark village. A usurer Hwang because of debt donated as independence war funds molests a junior Official Park. Keumbungeo falls in love with Park's only daughter Kkotnyeo at first sight and helps her in secret. He saves Kkotnyeo from Hwang's evil plot. Park and Kkotnyeo are driven from their house and live with Keumbungeo and the beggars. Keumbungeo does his best to regain the house and land from Hwang, but fails and comes back home. Keumbungeo disguises himself as a public prosecutor so as to save his comrade, but gets arrested for it. He is released, however, with the help of Kkotnyeo's betrothed.
