About Rice-cake Soup
Widowed Mrs. Hong has four daughters, Hong-Suk, Hang-Suk, Seong-Suk, Gong-Suk and her only son Jun-Tae. The family lives on Hong-Suk's money who is a dentist and who continues to postpone her marriage with Seong-Tae for the family. Seong-Suk, now pregnant, gets married with Wu-Jeong, who unfortunately gets put in jail, mistakenly accused. Gong-Suk lets Yang-Ki, a writer, live in her room. Hang-Suk, a nurse in her sister's dentistry complains of Kwang-Su's practice in his dentistry nearby. Jun-Tae secretly learns the philosophy of human destiny, but decides to study school subjects, taking an advice of Hong-Suk. Later Wu-Jeong gets released, Hang-Suk marries Kwang-Su, Seong-Tae visits Hong-Suk, and Yang-Ki's novel on the family is selected as the first prize winner.
