Kimjonghak Production is an independent production company established in February 1998 by Director Kim Jong-hak who has produced 'The Apple of the Eye at Dawn', 'The Sandglass', and 'White Night 3.98', pivotal pieces in the history of Korean drama.
Recently, the trend has been for broadcasting companies to give orders of program production to outside sources, rather than making them themselves, and various media, such as CATV, satellite broadcasting, and Internet are available. In addition, competition in the world market is getting more intense. Under these circumstances, Kimjonghak Production, with their wealth of production experience, was established in order to take the leading part with works of high quality in the rapidly changing video market.
Kimjonghak Production is continuously scouting competent producers and writers such as Lee Byung-hoon, Pyo Min-soo, Ahn Pan-seok, Yoo Cheol-yong and Choi Yoon-seok, and is inviting investments from Plenus Entertainment and Munhwa Investment. By constructing the system that can produce various programs without any problems, it seeks to become a major production company in Korea. Starting with the production of 'Ghost', they have produced 'Golden Age' in 2000, 'Beautiful Days'/'Sinhwa' in 2001, and 'A Gift'/'Glass Slippers' in 2002. In addition, 'Great Ambition', directed by Kim Jong-hak and written by Song Ji-nah (¡°Sandglass¡±), and 'Shoot A Star', directed by Lee Jang-soo, have met with great success. KimJonghak Production is now preparing for the production of a movie which will be released in 2004.
